Adam Gill has 15 years of experience in Canadian oil & gas, finance, and equity markets. His focus is on the intermediate/junior domestic E&Ps and select US names, along with natural gas macro research with emphasis on Canadian supply/demand dynamics. Before joining Eight Capital, he was Executive Director with CIBC World Markets’ energy research group. Adam has a comprehensive understanding of the North American E&P space and has established a network of buy side relationships in both Canada & the U.S.

Phil Skolnick | Principal, Managing Director Research | Senior E&Ps/Integrateds & Oil Sands

Phil Skolnick has over 20 years investment industry experience, mostly oil & gas sell-side with CIBC, Lehman Brothers, Genuity Capital Markets and Canaccord Genuity. He was formerly an Analyst at Surveyor Capital / Citadel in New York covering large-cap North American E&P for a $1.2b market neutral Energy portfolio. Phil was the first U.S.-based analyst to launch coverage of the Canadian Royalty Trusts and Oil Sands universe and has regularly achieved a Top 5 Brendan Woods ranking for Canadian Large Cap Energy (most notably Top Gun in 2014). Phil’s relationships are extensive on both sides of the street and the border, especially in the hedge fund community.

Craig Stanley, M.Sc. | Principal | Precious Metals, Intermediate/Junior

Craig Stanley has over 15 years of corporate, buy- and sell-side experience. Previously he was Vice President, Corporate Development of a TSX and NYSE-listed gold and silver producer. Craig holds a Master of Science in Geology degree and is a winner of a 2019 StarMine Analyst Award (Metals & Mining category, Top Stock Pickers sub-category).

John Sutherland | Principal, Managing Director | Metals & Mining

John Sutherland joined Eight Capital’s investment banking team in February 2020, after working for Canaccord Genuity since March 2006.  He brings over 15 years of investment banking and capital markets experience, working on over 150 financings with gross proceeds in excess of $5 billion and over 30 M&A mandates with a total transaction value in excess of $10 billion. John holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours, Finance/Accounting from the University of Ottawa and is a CFA Charterholder.

Suthan Sukumar, B.Eng | Principal | Technology & Gaming

Suthan Sukumar leads the Canadian Technology & Gaming Equity Research team at Eight Capital, where he joined as a founding principal. He currently specializes in IT services, enterprise software/SaaS, FinTech, AdTech, online gaming, blockchain, and esports. Prior to Eight Capital, Suthan worked in institutional equity research at an independent Canadian broker covering the technology and gaming sectors. Before entering the capital markets, Suthan was at Rogers Communications in a variety of roles comprising R&D, New Product Development and Internal Strategy. Suthan holds a B.Eng from McMaster University in Electrical Engineering and an M.B.A. from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.

David A. Talbot | Director | Uranium & Battery Metals

David Talbot has over 15 years of financial industry experience, all of them in a research capacity at Eight Capital. Prior to joining Eight Capital, David spent 10 years in the gold exploration industry, working for Placer Dome, Franco-Nevada and Newmont Capital. His current research coverage consists of 26 total companies. He is ranked with eleven 1st place and four 2nd place rankings for companies under coverage in The Bloomberg Absolute Total Return analyst peer index. David’s commentary has been frequently quoted in various publications and news articles including Dow Jones, Reuters, The Economist, Financial Post and the Globe and Mail. He is a member of the Society of Economic Geologist and the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada. David graduated with an H.B.Sc. in Earth Sciences from Western University.

Tina Normann brings more than 15 years of experience in providing clients with actionable technical commentary across each asset class. She synthesizes a global top down approach that takes into account inter-market relationships with a bottom up sector and single stock trend commentary.  Analysis is made across all time frames to suit the needs of short-term traders and institutional investors while also highlighting big picture themes. Tina has achieved a Top Brendan Woods ranking for Technical Analysis (most notably Top Gun in 2019, 2018 and 2017). Tina is a CMT charter holder and completed her under-graduate degree at University of Toronto. She monitors the universe of Canadian and US quantitative models across different styles, both earnings momentum and value.

Patrick McBride | Principal, Head of Origination

As a founding Principal of Eight Capital, Patrick McBride brings over a decade of institutional sales experience, covering mutual fund, pension fund and hedge fund clients. Patrick was previously a Principal at Genuity Capital Markets, and Managing Director at Canaccord Genuity. Patrick has been Head of Origination for the investment banking team since 2017, and has executed on numerous financings and M&A transactions. Patrick holds a H.B.Sc. from the University of Toronto and is a CFA Charterholder.

Steve Theriault, CFA | Principal, Head of Research | Financial Services

Steve Theriault joined Eight Capital in July 2016, with over a decade at BMO Capital Markets in both equity and corporate debt research, as well as seven years as the Senior Financial Services Analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Toronto. Steve has been consistently ranked by Brendan Woods and has received a variety of top Starmine (recently renamed Thomson Reuters) awards since 2009. Most recently, Steve was named the #2 stock picker and #3 earnings estimator for Canadian banks in 2018.

Graeme Kreindler is one of the leading research Analysts in the specialty healthcare sector with a coverage list of over 20 companies. Eyal Ofir | Principal, Managing Director | Technology & Gaming

As a Founding Principal of Eight Capital, Eyal Ofir brings over 15 years of experience in the technology sector, including over 12 years in equity research and four years with IBM Canada Ltd., with his last role at IBM as the Financial Lead on the Canadian e-Business Hosting Services Division. Elizabeth Staltari is a founding Principal of Eight Capital having spent her career at independent investment dealers focused on non-resource industry groups. Since early 2016, Elizabeth has focused her time in the Healthcare group within investment banking and has executed on numerous financing and M&A transactions. Prior to investment banking, Elizabeth worked in institutional equity research covering real estate, infrastructure and industrials. Jason Yeung is a Principal of Eight Capital and brings over 15 years of investment banking with a focus on metals & mining.  He has led or Co-led over 200 Equity financing’s raising in excess of $13 billion for mining clients with projects across the globe, and has advised on over 40 announced M&A transactions with a total deal value in excess of $42 billion.  Prior to joining Eight Capital, Jason has worked at two of Canada’s largest independent investment dealers.  Jason holds a B.B.A. in Finance from Simon Fraser University and is a CFA Charterholder.

Nic Katsiyianis | Managing Director, Co-Head of Institutional Sales

Nic Katsiyianis has 20 years of experience in capital markets, specializing in U.S. institutions. In addition to his role as Co-Head of Institutional Sales he also sits on the board for a U.S. community bank.  Previous to joining Eight Capital Nic was Managing Director, Canadian equity sales at Canaccord Genuity, and a Partner at Genuity Capital Markets. Earlier in his career he was a director at CIBC based in Boston, U.S.A.

Jenny Wang joined Eight Capital in January 2019 as an equity Analyst covering consumer and healthcare sectors. She previously worked in equity research at Canaccord Genuity with a focus on alternative pharmaceuticals. Jenny obtained her Chartered Professional Accountant designation at PricewaterhouseCoopers and holds an H.B.A. from the Richard Ivey School of Business.

Ralph Profiti joined Eight Capital in May 2017 to cover large cap precious and industrial metals. He has worked in mining research for 14 years, including as a key member of the Global Metals & Mining Equity Research Teams at Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank, covering North American Base Metals & Precious Metals equities in Toronto and New York, as well as Corporate Banking at Royal Bank of Canada. Ralph has consistently ranked amongst the top of his peer group in Brendan Woods and Starmine (Stock Recommendations and Estimate Accuracy). Ralph holds a B.Eng., an M.B.A., and is a CFA charterholder.
